Please note: Dr. Lauren Helm offers couples therapy on a private pay basis and does not bill insurance for these services. This is because insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis and documentation of medical necessity, which is not appropriate or ethical to assign to a relationship. By choosing private pay, you and your partner can engage in therapy focused on improving communication, strengthening connection, and addressing challenges without the constraints of a medical model. This approach also protects your privacy and allows for greater flexibility in setting goals that fit your unique relationship.
-
Cancellation and rescheduling requires 24 hour notice. If you do attend your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified Dr. Lauren Helm at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.Description text goes here

Individual Therapy Services:
For insurances that Dr. Lauren Helm is not currently in-network with or accepting, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost, often 50% or more for each session. For client’s interested in streamlined out-of-network reimbursement, Dr. Helm uses Thrizer to verify your out-of-network benefits and submit superbills for you. Thrizer manages the reimbursement process end-to-end. If you are interested, you can learn more about how it works here: www.thrizer.com.
Thrizer Pay:
With Thrizer Pay, you only cover a co-insurance amount for sessions, based on your out-of-network benefits, after you’ve met your deductible. This means you avoid paying the full session rate upfront and waiting for reimbursement. This option is available once your deductible is met, and a 5% fee applies. Unfortunately, BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) insurance plans are not currently eligible for Thrizer Pay.
OON Pay:
With OON Pay, you pay the full session fee in full at the time of service, and after a claim is submitted, wait for reimbursement (usually sent to you as a check) from your insurance. Thrizer will automatically submit an out-of-network claim on your behalf after each session if you choose to use this service. Alternatively, you can choose to submit a claim and Superbill directly to your insurance using your insurance carrier’s claim submission system.
Self Pay:
With Self Pay, you pay for sessions in full at the time of service, without submitting any claims to your insurance. This option is ideal if you do not have out-of-network benefits or if you prefer not to use your insurance.

Dr. Lauren Helm offers therapy on a private pay basis, which means clients pay directly for services rather than going through insurance. Many clients prefer this option because it allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and control over their care. Private pay therapy does not require a mental health diagnosis or limit the number of sessions based on insurance coverage. This approach supports a more personalized and collaborative experience, focused on your individual goals and values. Payment is accepted via credit card or HSA/FSA,
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
